Our Story
Scandi Sweet Shop was born from a simple obsession: the best candy in the world comes from Sweden, and everyone deserves access to it.
Sweden takes candy seriously. The tradition of lördagsgodis — Saturday candy — has been woven into Swedish culture since the 1950s. Every Saturday, families head to the sweet shop and fill paper bags with their favourites: sour skulls, foam bananas, licorice wheels, gummy fish, and dozens more.
The idea started in the 1950s when dentists recommended limiting sweets to just one day a week. Instead of killing the candy habit, it created a beloved national ritual. Today, Swedes consume around 17kg of candy per person per year — more than almost any other country on earth.

What is Lördagsgodis?
Lördagsgodis (pronounced lör-dags-goo-dees) literally means “Saturday candy” in Swedish. It’s the beloved tradition of treating yourself to sweets on Saturday — and only Saturday.
