These are small brick-shaped chews from Vidal, the pick-and-mix specialist founded in Spain in 1963. The outside carries a fine sour sugar coating with a proper tang; bite through and the strawberry turns soft and creamy in the centre, so each piece swings from sharp to smooth in a couple of seconds. If you know the sour-sugar hit of Sour Patch Kids, this is that opening note — but with a creamier, more substantial chew underneath. The blocky shape makes them easy to spot in any Swedish pick-and-mix wall.
